Obituary of Tosca Jones (nee Dmitrenko)

May 28, 1925 (Ukraine) to December 15, 2025 (Windsor) 

Passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by husband Henry (2012) and son Peter (2010). Survived by daughters Jennifer (Harry) and Betty; daughter-in-law Nancy; grandchildren Christine, Jeff, Rosalind, Nathan (Jamie), Adam, Kevin (Julie), and Tyler; great-grandchildren Thomas, Lucas and Eliana. Tosca treasured as her own, Harry’s children Melissa and Tom and grandchildren Cole, Jackson, Chloe and Declan. Many will remember Tosca from 40+ years waitressing at the Chicken Court and Top Hat restaurants in downtown Windsor. With her impeccable uniform, starched white apron and newly polished shoes she was the right choice to serve as a banquet waitress for such dignitaries as Pierre Trudeau, Mikhail Gorbachev and Eugene Whalen. Tosca stayed busy well into her 90s showing amazing talents for sewing, cooking and gardening, staying fit with her best friends from the Adie Knox Aqua Fitness. The family would like to thank her wonderful neighbors for their friendship and Dr Jing for her care. Per Tosca’s wishes a private service will take place followed by a family gathering in January. In lieu of flowers donations to the Transition to Betterness is appreciated.
