Obituary of Gerald Wayne Joseph Simard

Gerald Wayne Joseph Simard peacefully passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Windsor Regional Hospital - Met Campus, at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of 64 years to Sandra Simard (née Mitchell). Loving father of Colleen Guarino, David Simard, Maureen Olesko (Steve), and Gerald Simard Jr. (Colette).

Proud grandfather of Matthew, Michaela, Jenna (Adam), David, Noah, the late Melissa, and great grandfather of Ayedon, Vincent, Amelia, and Lucy.

Gerald was the cherished son of the late Joe and Gladys Simard. Predeceased by his sister Gloria (John) Hogan. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Gerald was a retired sales representative with Electrozad Supply Ltd. and a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 261, for over 60 years. He enjoyed seasonal camping at Epping Forest, as well as spending time playing darts and cards, activities that brought him great joy and lasting friendships.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Banwell, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor, ON on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a Legion Prayer Service at 7:00 pm.  A chapel service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 20, at 10:30 a.m., with burial to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens.

Donations in memory of Gerald may be made to the Windsor Humane Society and would be greatly appreciated.
