Obituary of James Carson Barton

James passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus on December 4, 2025, at the age of 85.

Beloved husband of the late Darlene, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. Loving father to Mark (Catherine) Barton of St. Albert, AB; Jim Barton (Kalista) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and John (Laura) Barton of Waterford, MI.

Cherished grandfather to Sarah, and Rachel, Leah and Alana, their mother Liana, and great-grandfather to Maeve.

James had a distinguished 30 year career at Chrysler Canada Ltd. holding various positions across Canada including National Import / Export Manager in Windsor, ON. Previous to this, James served as an RCMP officer in Alberta from 1959 to 1964.

At James’s request, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel), 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., (519) 253-7234, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, Midland, ON, at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Hospice of Windsor Essex would be appreciated.http://www.thehospice.ca
