Obituary of Ronald Drouillard

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Drouillard on October 28, 2025, at the age of 79, at The Village at St. Clair Long Term Care Home.

Beloved husband of Shirley Drouillard (née Gauthier). Loving father of Darrin (Chantal) Drouillard, Terri Pitre, and Michael (Michelle) Drouillard. Cherished grandfather of Arianna (Cody), Daniella, Amelia, Thomas, Logan, and Leah.

Dear brother of the late Janet (Mark) Perron, Sandra Stubbs, Glen (late Brenda) Drouillard, Dean Drouillard, Deborah (Mike) Hickling, and Kim (Dave) Vriesinga. Brother-in-law of Don (Carol), Deanna (Bob), Cliff (Sylvia), Mike (Sue), Trish, Ann Marie (Dan), Nancy (Gil), Lorette, Sandra (Ted), and Cindy (Ken).

Son of the late Raymond and Antoinette Drouillard, and son-in-law of the late Annabelle (Ernie) Bridgen. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Ron dedicated his life to serving others. From the age of 17, he served as a medic in the Canadian Armed Forces for eight years. Then, for 31 years, he worked as a paramedic, saving countless lives throughout Windsor and Essex County. He continued to give back to the community through various volunteer efforts, including serving as a Scouter with the 35th Tecumseh Scout Troop, bringing MedVents, a paramedic-focused Venturer company to Essex County, and serving as an exective member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 261.

The family would like to thank the staff at both the Amherstburg and Harrow neighbourhoods of The Village at St Clair for all their excellent care over the past 8 1/2 years. Their compassion and kindness is much appreciated.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel), 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E, Windsor, on Saturday, November 1, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., with a Legion Service at 4 p.m. Cremation to follow.

Due to Ron's dedication to the annual Legion Poppy Campaign, where he served as Poppy Chair for many years, the family asks that donations be made in Ron’s memory to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 261 Poppy Fund. Lest we Forget.
