Obituary of Mildred Dmowski
Mildred passed away in her home at the age of 98. She was predeceased by her loving husband, George (2004) and her 2 brothers and sister.
Mildred (Millie) lived a long and fulfilling life. She was a special-ed teacher with the Windsor School Board for many years. “Mrs. D” was fondly remembered by her many students for the positive impact she had on their lives.
Millie had a myriad of interests and belonged to a large number of clubs and organizations. She was an avid reader and an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing all her own meals.
Millie was extremely kind, caring and generous with her time, talent and treasure. Whether knitting caps for premature newborns at Sick Kids hospital, supporting a large number of charities or delivering her prepared meals to friends in need, she was always sensitive to the needs of others and sought to help them.
Millie was an incredible, amazing woman. Her response to that description was simply - “I’m just doing the best I can”. Hers was a life well lived.
Special thanks to Millie’s dear friend, Susan Hamelin, whose help and support enabled Millie to keep living in her own home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd. E, 519-253-7235). At Millie’s request, cremation has taken place, with entombment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with her husband, George.
