Obituary of James Ruthven

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jim on October 11, 2025, at the age of 80. Beloved husband and best friend to his soulmate Barbara for 47 beautiful years, Jim was a kind and thoughtful man whose quiet strength and gentle humour touched everyone who knew him. A devoted stepfather to Kevin Drouillard (Shirley), Jim embraced his role with love and unwavering support. He will be deeply missed by his many brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephew/ws, extended family, and friends. Jim dedicated many years of his working life as a purchasing agent at Windsor Match Plate and Tool, where his reliability and work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. In retirement, Jim took joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved a good chess match, always keeping his mind sharp and strategic, and he found great happiness exploring the countryside with Barb by his side - their favourite pastime together. Whether sharing a laugh, offering advice, or enjoying a quiet moment, Jim’s presence brought comfort and warmth to all around him. He will be remembered always for his calm spirit, generous heart, and the love he shared so freely. At Jim’s request, cremation has taken place.
