Obituary of Faridah Sayegh

SAYEGH, Faridah

December 20th 1938 – October 10th 2025

Passed away on October 10th 2025 after a two-year battle with cancer. Loving mother to Mary. Dear wife to the late Nimer for many decades. Faridah is reunited with her parents and her brothers and sister.

Faridah was born in Lebanon, where many of her extended family still live. When she immigrated to Canada, she met her husband Nimer, and they moved together to Windsor to be closer to family who was there. She supported her husband in sickness and in health until his passing in 2016. Family was also a strong value for Faridah, always looking out for her nieces Ghada and Mary, and talking with her sister in law Jackleen on the phone.

She was an active member of St Ignatious of Antioch Orthodox Church for the whole of her life. She was proud to be a wife and mother, and loved to crochet and play with her daughter’s small dog Lulu.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd E.) on Thursday October 16th 2025 from 6pm-9pm. Parish prayers at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue at St Ignatius of Antioch Orthodox Church (1808 Labelle St) from 10:30am until the time of Funeral Service at 11am on Friday October 17th 2025. Burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens (1100 Division Rd.) Donations in memory of Faridah may be made to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation and Society of St Vincent De Paul.
