I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I was a child when I met Brenda in Windsor. She was a friend of my cousin Sheila Tyler. She became like another cousin. Very generous. When my family moved to Cobourg Ont. I was finishing Grade 8 and stayed behind for a month or so. She drove In her big white new 1963 car to take me at Easter Holidays to Toronto. We went to her parents home . Where they welcomed me and later took me to the Bus station to get a bus for Cobourg. Brenda (and her Daughter Marlene )were a big part of my parents lives as well being included in their 40th anniversary and family reunion at St.Anne's north of Grafton. Brenda lived a long and interesting life. She always had such enthusiasm for the things she did-teaching, card club, lunches out, and spending time with family & friends. Brenda and I met in 1988, as partners in the junior kindergarten program. She encouraged me to get my teaching degree and I am so grateful to her for that. She will be missed!

I was introduced to Brenda by a common neighbour. We talked that day in August for a few minutes. I had found out she had been retired as a teacher for 30 years after mentioning I had just retired. My condolences to the family, am sorry for your loss.

I was brenda’s hairdresser for many years. I am saddened to hear she past away ! She will be certainly missed by many ! My sympathies go out to Sarah ( her granddaughter) and family who she loved so much ! Especially her great grandboy malcolm ,who she was so thrilled to have in her life ! When i asked her how he was ,her face lit up with joy and proudness ! Rest easy brenda ,you had an amazing fulfilling life and all that knew you will miss you so much . Sandra Nantais

Sandy, so glad you got the message left for you. Brenda spoke so highly of you, and always looked forward to seeing you. Malcolm truly was her favourite and I’m so thankful she spent so much time with him. We will miss her so much.

I knew Brenda through my mother, Jan. Brenda was also a real estate client of mine. She gave me a shot when I was new to the business and allowed me the privilege of assisting her with 3 real estate transactions. Her trust in me really boosted my confidence as a new agent - I’ll never forget that time that I shared with Brenda. She was a very kind person and I remember she was always talking about her grandkids! I respect how she always made time for her girlfriends and created a great life for herself. Brenda will be missed by many, including my mother who has lost a great, loyal friend. My heart goes out to her family during this difficult time. She will surely be missed!

Brenda was an ideal neighbour. She always had time to stop and say hello. We admired her yard and its seasonal decorations. A Canadian flag was always a fixture there as well. In the Spring, we enjoyed watching the orioles around her feeder. At Christmas we attended her annual party for the neighbours. Brenda served on our Townhome Association and kept up with all the changes on the street. She loved her home which she called "a piece of heaven". We shared stories of our grandchildren and recently her great grandchild of whom she was most proud. She was always genuinely interested in people and so welcoming. We will keep all of her family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. She was a very special lady and we will miss her.

My friendship with Brenda was a very special thing for me..We worked together, we golfed together, we lunched together and we travelled to golf getaways together. She was a faithful and reliable friend who cared about all of those in her circle. I will miss her very much.

We send our deepest sympathy to Brenda’s family who she loved so very much. My husband, Richard, taught with Brenda at Forest Glade School. They both loved teaching and coaching. A few years later, Brenda and I began golfing in the same league. Thus, the friendship continued to grow. She was a beautiful, caring, kind and generous lady. Brenda was our former elementary school teacher (from Forest Glade PS) We remained friends with Brenda after all these years. She taught us ( in innovative ways) coached us in every sport, went to our showers, weddings and celebrated dinner get-togethers as adults. We will miss you Brenda and will never forget what you did for ALL the students in your care. It was an honour to be one of “the girls” and we will miss you very much. ❤️ Ellen Murray. On behalf of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario, we send our most deepest condolences on the loss of this treasured member, friend and colleague. Brenda left her impact in the classroom as a dedicated teacher and was blessed with 28 years in retirement staying active within RWTO and in her community. We will share many happy stories and memories for many days to come as Brenda will be sorely missed. To her beloved children, grandchildren and great children, we send our love and prayers. RWTO will honour Brenda by donating a children's book to the Public Library in her name so that many children will know a beloved teacher left an imprint on education.
