Obituary of Dave Daley

David James Daley
1940 - 2025

With heavy hearts, we share that Dave Daley, loving father and dear friend to many, passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 85 in Windsor, Ontario.

Born January 28, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, to Thomas "Frank" Daley and Dorothy (née Maesenich) Daley (later McGrath), Dave leaves behind his loving children: John (grandchild Blake), David and Lynn (grandchildren Keira, Rachel, Michael, and great-grandchild Walter), Judy (grandchildren Zoë, Sarah, Hannah, and Kaia), and Steve and Irene (grandchildren Emma and Max), all of whom he cherished deeply.

Dave lived a full and meaningful life, filled with hard work, loyal friendship, and care for others. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and then went on to follow many paths, including pastor, fuel man, baker, and car salesman, each one reflecting a different side of who he was. Dave had a passion for many things: motorcycles, cars, woodworking, sports, baking, and, most of all, helping people. He had a gift for connecting with everyone he met, and people were naturally drawn to his warmth and honesty. Wherever he went, Dave made a lasting impression. He was trusted, respected, and loved.

A Reception to Celebrate Dave's life will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 11677 Tecumseh Rd E, Windsor, Ontario, on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Dave in your thoughts and prayers, and, if you wish, share a story or memory in his honor; that is more than enough.
