Obituary of Josef Stenger

Passed away peacefully in palliative care, on October 4, 2025, at the age of 96. Reunited with his loving wife Edeltraud (nee Saloga)(1985) and long-time friend Mary Agnes Csiszar (2016). Cherished father of Margret Paré (Michael). Beloved Opa of Marcel Paré, Carmen Clayton (Joshua) and great-Opa of Ethan, Mallory, Wesley and Audrey. Dear brother of Hans of Germany. Predeceased by his parents Josef and Theresia Stenger and brother Gregor (1995).

Josef was a long-time employee of John MM Troup Ltd. and Trojan Interior Contracting Ltd., a life long member of IUPAT Union, as well as the Teutonia Club. He was also a proud member of Bishop J.T. Kidd Council 4924, and was a 4th Degree Member of the Rt. Rev. W.J. Langlois Assembly 1789 Knights of Columbus.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lifetimes on Riverside, Dr. Sahar Khan, Cancer Centre staff and nurses in the Chemo Suite, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare - Palliative Care and Hospice of Windsor for all their care and compassion.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., (519-253-7235) on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 5-8 pm. Knights of Columbus prayers at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Michael Catholic Church (2153 Parkwood Ave.) on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
