Obituary of Janko Gombar

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janko Gombar, who peacefully passed away at Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus on September 19, 2025, at the age of 79.

Beloved husband of Anna Gombar (née Tomic). Cherished father of Alexandra “Sandy” (Zarko) and the late Julie (survived by David). Loving grandfather of Michael and Page. Janko was the devoted son of the late Janko and Julia Gombar, and will be dearly missed by his nephew Jerry (Mila).

Janko dedicated many years of his life to his work as a skilled tool and die worker, where he was admired for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship. After retirement, he took joy in “emptying the bucket list,” traveling the world with a spirit of adventure and gratitude.  Above all, he will be remembered as a family man, deeply loved and respected by those who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Windsor Chapel Banwell, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E, Windsor, on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1701 Turner Rd., Windsor, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.

Janko will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
