Obituary of Shane Prutchick

It is with deep heartfelt sadness, that the family announces the passing of Shane Prutchick on September 13, 2025, at the age of 41.

Loving husband and soulmate to Stephanie McDowell. Devoted father and superhero to Chloe, and adored and loved stepfather of Lindsay and Megan Phillips. Cherished and amazing son of Tim and Jody Prutchick, and brother and best friend to Mike Prutchick.

Precious grandson of the late Leo and Leah Marion, George Prutchick and Flora Gauthier, Maria and Louis Zagar, and William and Donna McDowell. Son-in-law of Ken McDowell and France Champoux, and Ann Brenton (McDowell) and Fred Brenton. Brother-in-law of Michael McDowell, and caring uncle to Leah. Shane will be deeply missed by many surviving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers.

The family wishes to thank the first responders, bystanders, police, and the staff of Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus - Trauma, OR, ICU, and the 6th Floor for their care and compassion.

Memorial visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234) on Friday, September 19th from 10am until the time of Memorial Service at 12pm.

Shane’s absolute least favorite thing to do was dress up, so to honour this, let's make this a casual celebration, please feel free to wear your favourite Metallica or Rock Band t-shirt proudly to the service.
