Obituary of Editha Javier Malilay

Malilay, Editha Javier (November 16, 1946 - September 10, 2025)

Passed away peacefully on September 10th ,2025 and is reunite with her husband of 54 years, Edilberto (2019). Loving mother of Francis (Iris), Christopher (Anne), Jonathan (Joyce). Proud mama (grandmother) to Amanda (Craig), Isabella, Nigel, Addison, and Luca. She is survived by many family members and friends in the Philippines, and across Canada and the United States.

After immigrating to Michigan in 1971, Edith and Ed spent time living in Battle Creek, Detroit, and Toronto before settling in Windsor. Edith was a dedicated nurse for over 40 years and worked until 2019. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, taking every opportunity to spoil them. She loved gardening and was known by local nurseries for her frequent visits. She also enjoyed testing her luck at the Casino and attending their shows.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL (11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. - 519-253-7235) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 2 -5 pm and 7-9 pm with parish prayers at 7:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at Good Shepherd Parish (462 Advance Blvd, Tecumseh, ON) on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, for visiting at 9 am and then the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Ste. Anne’s Cemetery (Lesperance Rd, Windsor, ON)

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Hospice of Windsor for making her comfortable during her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Inc. would be appreciated.
