Obituary of Hugh Clarkson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Hugh “Jim” James Clarkson, who has been reunited with his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda.

Jim will be profoundly missed by his children, Doug Clarkson, Brandie (Martin) Brennan, and Dan (Samantha) Clarkson. He was a cherished Papa to Connor, Grace, Logan, William, Abby, and Gabby.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Diane Lanoue, and was predeceased by his brothers, Larry and Gary Clarkson, as well as his parents, Daniel and Vera Clarkson. Jim will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, in-laws, friends and neighbours.

Jim dedicated 33 years of his life to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher with the Greater Essex County District School Board. He was also an active community leader, serving as a Boy Scout leader and coaching with Windsor Central Little League.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus ICU for their compassionate care.

A visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd. E, 519 253 7235) on Sunday September 14th, 2025 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm, as well as Monday September 15th from 9am until time of the funeral service at 10am, with cremation to follow.
