Obituary of Helen Ryan

It is with broken hearts that the family of Helen Ryan announce her passing on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the age of 86. Adored wife of the late Al.  Beloved and caring mother of Leslie (Rob) Marshall and Bill (Debbie) Ryan. Cherished Grammy of Jessica (Shane), Ben (Max) and Mikayla. Dear sister of Mary (George) Stasko; loved aunt of many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Andrew and Mary Frimer, and her brothers Dan, Steve (Gisele), Andy (Lyn) and John (late Mary).

Helen worked 40 years in downtown Detroit as a legal administrative assistant and after retiring she enjoyed part time work at Zellers making many new friends. Outside of work she was an avid bowler, proudly playing in a women's bowling league. She loved simple joys; a warm coffee, playing cards, enjoying a meal, a long phone call, spending time with family, and yearly visits to Manitoulin Island. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Family and friends will be received at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E.) 519-253-7234 on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1pm.  Donations in Helen’s memory can be made to the Ontario Federation of Cerebral Palsy or Windsor Regional Cancer Centre.
