Obituary of Ramon Olaviaga

Passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at the age of 83. Beloved and devoted husband of Josefina. Cherished father of Maria Authier (Keith) and Rex (Leslie Chan). Proud grandpa of Alexander and Meghan Authier (Jakub Serek).

Ramon built his career at the Windsor GM Transmission Plant, where he worked with dedication as a Job Setter. Outside of work, he was a man of many passions. He enjoyed tennis, basketball, bowling, and fishing, and was an avid Olympic boxing enthusiast. A true car lover, Ramon also had a flair for fashion-especially when it came to finding the perfect pair of running shoes or stylish clothes.

Above all, Ramon cherished time with his family and friends. Sharing meals, laughter, and moments of connection brought him the greatest joy, and he will be remembered for the warmth, generosity, and love he gave so freely.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 2 -5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers at 7:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at St. Anne’s Parish (12233 Tecumseh Rd. E.) on Monday, September 8, 2025, for Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment to follow Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
