Obituary of Kenneth Gordon Stephens

Ken passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on August 26, 2025, at the age of 77. Dear husband of the late Majorie. Proud father of Deanne (Andrew) Shaw, Melissa (John Farrell) Stephens, and Lisa (Jamie) Patton. Beloved grandfather of Brayden, Cameron, Caiden, and Lexie. Dear brother of Ron (Mattia). Predeceased by his parents, Wilbert and Bertha.

Ken taught 16 years at the elementary level and 19 years of high school. He spent 16 years at Assumption College High School and his last 3 at St. Anne’s High School. Ken was a member of the Naval Reserves for 15 years. He returned to the reserves after a 24-year break and was appointed Executive Officer of HMCS Hunter. Upon his retirement, he moved to the CIC with the Air Cadets (364 Squadron) for 4.5 years. He was a longtime member of Navy League and the Royal Canadian Naval Association. Ken was the last serving UNTD member. He loved flying and nearly made solo (damn COVID).

The family would like to thank all the friends and family who visited Ken at Windsor Hospice and would like to thank the staff and volunteers for their wonderful service to Ken and the community.

Visitation and funeral will be held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E, Windsor) on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 12:00 pm noon in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of Windsor in his name would be appreciated by the family.
