Obituary of William Earl "Bill" Williams

Born July 17, 1945 to Desmond and Patricia Williams, lived a good life growing up on Partington with his siblings Sharron, Bonnie, Judy, Janice, and Douglas. He passed away with family by his side on August 18, 2025 in the comfort and care of Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus and is now reunited with his late wife Carolyn Chappell-Williams (2024); survived by his sisters Bonnie Arnold (Wally) and Judy Kennedy (Ross Bishop). He was a proud father to Bill Williams (Cheri), Tanya Williams, Matthew Williams (Nicole), Allan Williams (Jennifer), Karen Wilson (Duncan), and stepfather to Jeff Chappell. Beloved grandfather of Mckenna, Kelsey, Liam, Sophie, Remy, Haven, Isla, Frederic, and McKayla.

Bill would often share stories of the formative experiences he had growing up, recounting his many major life events and lessons learned along the way. He was a talented musician (banjo, bass, piano, vocals, etc.) and entertainer, often using the shield and solace of a musical instrument at social gatherings to liven up the party. A long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 until recent changes in his mobility, he always enjoyed the company and camaraderie of fellow pool players and other patrons. He also had many happy memories of performing with the Windsor Banjo Club. Bill dedicated his working years to the Ford Motor Company and lived out a long and happy retirement, always thankful for the opportunities afforded to him.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (South Chapel), 3048 Dougall Avenue (519-253-7236) on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m.  Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brentwood Recovery Home in Windsor or the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation (Cardiac Cath Lab, Ouellette Campus Fund) would resonate profoundly with Bill and his family.
