Obituary of Donald George Gervais
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald George Gervais at the age of 86. He is reunited with his parents, Jeanette Gervais (nee Girard) and Merle Gervais, his younger brother Lawrence (Larry), and many other dear loved ones in heaven. Loving father to Angela Casey (James) and Lynn Gervais-Weinle (David), and proud grandfather to David Casey (Elli), Kathleen Casey, Zachary Weinle and Meghan Elmore (Martin), loving Godfather to his dear great-nieces Isabella and Olivia Biondo. He is survived by his siblings Diane Francoz and Gordon Gervais (Susan), and many beloved nieces and nephews. Don always strived to bring a little joy into the lives of those around him. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Detroit teams and loved euchre, and he usually won.He volunteered his time helping many organizations in his community, most recently the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre. Don loved meeting new people and learning about different cultures. He made a deep impact on so many lives and will be missed by many.
Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235), on Friday, August 15th, from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm, with eulogies at 7:30 pm. The funeral mass will be taking place the following day at St. John Vianney Parish (385 Dieppe St.) at 10 am with cremation to follow. In honour of Donald, donations may be made out to the Windsor Essex Humane Society. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com.
