Obituary of Dorees Bakos

Born in Baghdad, Iraq, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on July 27th,2025. Predeceased by her beloved husband Yousif Bakos(2003). Survived by her three children Yusra (Natek) Daheen, Bob (Joyce) Bakos and Khalid (Yazan) Bakos. Cherished Bebe to Dina (Jason), Naseer (Rana), Joseph, Andrew (Leonie), Jasmine (Peter), three great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Dorees was predeceased by her parents Wadeea and Rosa Jirjees and brother Morris. Also survived by her brother Sebah Jirjees. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews here in Windsor and abroad.

Dorees and Yousif immigrated to Canada in 1974. She loved travelling, playing bingo, going to the casino and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the management and dedicated staff at Huron Lodge where Dorees spent the last five years.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd E in Windsor on Thursday, July 31 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the chapel on Friday, August 1 at 12 pm with an interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, 5005 Howard Ave, Windsor, ON.
