Obituary of Egidio "Eddie" Dario

With saddened hearts the family of Egidio “Eddie” Dario announce his passing on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Bruna Dario. Loving father of Loredana (Richard) and Sandra. Cherished Nonno of Natasha (Anthony), Ryan, Patrick (Blythe), Olivia (Bakous), and Erica, and Bisnonno of Harrison and Sophia. Dear brother of the late Fanny (Ezio), Dina (Elio), and Daniela (Giuseppe). Eddie immigrated to Canada in 1951 with his family to start a new life. His family moved back to Italy in 1957 while he stayed in Canada. In 1960 Eddie met his forever love and in 1961 they got married and started a beautiful life together.

Eddie lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and passion for the simple pleasures. A proud member of both the Caboto Club and the Trevisani Club, Eddie was a familiar and cherished face in the Windsor Italian community. He found great joy in playing cards with friends at the Caboto Club. An avid gardener, Eddie took great pride in tending to his backyard. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and spent many seasons hunting. Whether he was testing his luck at the casino, cheering on his favorite hockey team, or hitting the lanes for a round of bowling, Eddie approached life with enthusiasm. Eddie’s memory will be forever treasured by his family and many friends. His legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234). Parish prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 10am from the funeral home then in procession to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave.) for 11am Funeral Mass. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens to follow. Donations in Eddies memory can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
