As a child growing up in a troubled household, Joyce took the time to take my brother and I and her grandchildren on field trips, to Mad Science, and to her friend Mary's Farm. Although we were not biologically related she became a Nana to me. Dropping candy in our mailbox and taking the time to teach us spelling while eating hot dogs in her kitchen. She introduced my brother and I to her grandchildren Reid and Cole who my brother and I became good friends with and would swim with in her backyard. These are cherished childhood memories of mine. And she truly one of the only positive things at that point in my troubled childhood. - But I appreciate the fact she reached out to my brother and I. She didn't have to, she was an adult and we were someone else's children. But she did it out of sympathy and compassion. Which I am greatful for. Although I am now an adult, with a career and a wife. I am truly grateful for the positive impact she had on my life. I also appreciate her grandchildren showing up to my father's funeral, and I would love to get back in touch. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. Joyce truly made the world better for us all.
