Obituary of Rick VanMackelberg

Born in Windsor on September 29, 1962, Rick passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, at Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus at the age of 62.

Beloved son of Gerald VanMackelberg and the late Marlene VanMackelberg. Loving brother to Debbie Ostoic (Peter) and proud uncle to Shaun. He will also be remembered fondly by his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and his Pinpals Bowling Group.

Rick had a deep love for all things Marvel-especially Spider-Man and Captain America-and found true joy in music, never missing a chance to bang on his beloved drums.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. East, Windsor, on Monday, June 23, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 24 at 10:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
