Obituary of Marilyn Joanne Farrand

Marilyn Joanne Farrand, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, in her hometown of Windsor, Ontario. Born on March 8, 1943, to Joseph and Violet Alliet (nee Wilson).

Joanne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Farrand, who she cherished deeply. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and memories. She is survived by her five devoted children: Angela, Jaimie (Liz), Vicki (Gerry), Kathy (Kevin), and Colleen (Brandon). She was also a proud grandmother to ten wonderful grandchildren: Stephen, Courtney, Madisson, Becky, Keith, Emily, Amanda, Alec, Grace, and Andrew. The joy of her life was further enhanced with the arrival of her great-grandchild, Kyriana, who brought an extra sparkle to her already bright personality.

Though Joanne worked diligently as a Cafeteria Manager, her true passions lay in her hobbies. She found great joy in painting and gardening, where she expressed her creativity and nurtured the beauty of nature. Her artistic talents shone through in her work, and her garden was a reflection of her vibrant spirit and love for life.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County for their compassion and kindness during Joanne's time with them.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Joanne's memory to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, an organization that provided her with comfort and support in her final days.
