
Obituary of Maria DeCecco
Maria DeCecco, loving wife of the late Silvio (1993), passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Brouillette Manor, Windsor. Maria was in her 102nd year. Maria will be deeply missed by her sons Vincent ( Melanie) and Dan ( Arlene). She is predeceased by her daughter Silvana (2014); (late husband, Roy (2018). Maria was a cherished Nonna to her beloved grandchildren Danny (Erin) DeCecco of Wilton, NY and Amy DeCecco of Windsor. Dear sister of the late Gisella Feregotto ( Alfredo), Guerrino (Vilma), Renato and Pietro. Also survived by her sisters Caterina DeCecco ( late Silvio) of Italy, Mirella Dell’Agnese ( Romeo) of Switzerland and sister-in-law Ivanda DeCecco of Windsor. Predeceased by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Adela and Umberto Gallina, Aristide and Rosa DeCecco, Giovanni and Barbara DeCecco, Lucia and Rino DeCecco. Cherished Agne Maria of many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.
Maria was born on December 23, 1923 in Braulins, Italy. Maria came to Canada in 1951 and built a good life in Windsor. Maria’s hard work and perseverance as the main cook at the Tunnel Bar-B-Q for 40+ years allowed her to develop many life long friendships. Maria was a very generous woman and willingly provided delicious meals to all her family and friends. A special thank you to the staff at Brouillette Manor for their care and compassion.
Family and friends will be received at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. 519-253-7234) on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm with parish prayers at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.) on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 10am until time of funeral mass at 11am. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
