Obituary of Ortensia Forest

Ortensia passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025 at the age of 89. Cherished wife of the late Emilio (2022). Loving mother of Flavio (Sue), Sergio (Emily) and the late Nadia (2005). Dear Nonna of Megan, Adriana (Michael) and Stefano (Amanda). Precious Bisnonna of Zayna, Emilio, Hudson and Chloe. Predeceased by her sister Lucia and brother Pietro. Ortensia will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ortensia was a kind, generous and caring person. Ortensia came to Canada from Italy in 1963. She was a loving mother and homemaker to her family. As her children grew, she served as a talented waitress at the Cleary and Caboto Club, setting tables and serving meals to many guests. Ortensia had a passion for gardening and grew many vegetables, plants and flowers that she shared with her family. She was also a great cook, sharing wonderful Sunday lunches and special occasions with her family. She passed along many valuable traditions and qualities that will be carried forward by her family in her memory.

Visitation to be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd E.) 519- 253-7234 on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 2-5pm, and 7-9pm. Prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral mass to be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 9:30am at St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave.) Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
