Obituary of Ronald Longmuir

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Longmuir, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, cousin, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ron was the cherished son of Elsie and Harry Longmuir and a loving brother to Robert, Arthur, and Harry Jr. He is now reunited with the love of his life, his wife and best friend, Judith Anne Francis Longmuir. Throughout his life, Ron was a proud and devoted stepfather to Dwayne, Donna, John, Jerry, Billie, Doug and Joey Father to Jake, Paul, Barry, Tammy, Sandy and Ronnie Jr his family meant the world to him. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather, sharing countless special memories with the generations who followed him. Ron’s career journey was a diverse and fulfilling one, with his final profession as a truck driver allowing him to see many parts of the country he loved so much. Wherever Ron went, he left behind kindness and a helping hand. Affectionately known by many as an “animal whisperer,” Ron had a special way with animals, always feeding the neighbourhood squirrels, cats, birds — and even their beloved pet goose, Lucy. Ron loved the outdoors, and he could often be found in his garden, soaking up the sunshine and tending to his plants with care and patience. His passions also included cheering on his favourite teams — the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Windsor Spitfires — never missing a chance to watch a game and celebrate their victories. Ron’s kindness, warmth, and generous spirit touched everyone he met. His legacy will live on in the many lives he impacted and in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Visiting will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. (519-253-7234) on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. As per Ron's wishes, cremation will take place following the service. A luncheon will be held at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 (5030 Howard Avenue). In honour of Ron’s love of sports, we encourage everyone to wear their favourite sports jersey - especially a Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, or Windsor Spitfires jersey or shirt. We look forward to celebrating Ron’s life together and sharing memories. Online condolences and cherished memories can be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
