Obituary of Maria Abati

It is with broken hearts that the family of Maria Abati announces that she passed away on April 17, 2025, with family by her side. Born in Mezzani, Parma, Italy, on September 5, 1930, she came to Canada in 1962 to join her husband, Amos Abati. They celebrated nearly 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2018. Dear daughter of the late Carlo and Pierina Rosi, and sister of the late Luigi and Marisa Rosi. Beloved mother to Piercarlo (Nancy) and Giovanni. Loving Nonna to Cristof (Deven), Alene (Marc), and Amos (Nina). Proud bisnonna to Thea. Predeceased by her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Maria (Renzo), Iones, Eros (Rina), Gino, and Bruno; niece Mirka; and nephew Fabrizio. Fondly remembered by family in Italy and Canada: Maria, Franca, Mario, Simonetta, Hedy (Eric), Alessandra, Sarah, Robert (Dallas), Richard, and other extended family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Jenny Boismier and all the doctors and nurses on the 6th floor of the Met Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital who took such kind and compassionate care of Maria. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234) on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Parish Prayers at 4:30pm. Procession from the funeral home on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 10:45 am to St. Angela Merici church for the mass of the resurrection at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
