Obituary of Irene Margaret Kristof

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Irene Kristof (nee Gyenes), a beloved Wife, Mother, Mother-in-Law, Nana, Great-Grandmother (Gigi), Sister and Sister-in-Law. Loving wife of her sweetheart, the late John Kristof, for 65 years. Devoted mother to Dianne and Dino Salvador, and Stephen and Denise Kristof. Amazing Nana to Erin and Brian Remillong, Kara Kristof and Tyler Calcutt. Great grandmother to Adam and Emma Remillong. Loving sister to Louis and Sharron Gyenes. Dear sister-in-law to Betty Nemeth. Predeceased by parents Steve and Emma Gyenes. Beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Irene was devoted to her family, and shared her love generously and unconditionally. Irene was a great cook who loved making gourmet meals for her family. She worked for many years as a medical receptionist, and earlier in her career, school receptionist and substitute teacher. Special thanks to her primary team of PSW’s: Vicki, Anna, Tanya, Roni, Meagan, Sarah, Sabitri, Kayla and Shannon. A special thank you to her nurses, Juliet and Rachel, for their excellent care.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E) 519-253-7234 on Monday, April 21, 2025, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.) from 9 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Private family interment to follow at a later date. In memory of Irene, memorial donations may be made to The Hospice of Windsor- Essex.
