Obituary of Doreen Ambrose

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Doreen on April 11, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family.

Doreen was a devoted and loving mother to Deborah (Terrance) Christopher and Derek Ambrose. She was cherished as 'Kuku' and grandma by her grandchildren Leah, Kahless, Kale, and Owen. Her warmth and wisdom will be deeply missed by her Aunt Bonita Kearns (late Don).

Doreen was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Therese Ambrose, and dear sister to Gilda (late Lewis), June (Roland), and Rebecca (late Chris). She now reunites in eternal peace with the love of her life, Patrick Vel, whose memory she carried close to her heart.

She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her. Doreen’s later years were filled with the companionship of Mike Bulley, and the unwavering friendship of her best friend Lisa Baron, both of whom held a special place in her heart.

A woman of deep faith, Doreen was a dedicated member of St. Alphonsus Church for over 35 years, where she found strength, purpose, and community.

Doreen dedicated her working life to the City of Windsor (Social Services Dept.). She always found ways to give back-supporting local charities and participating in many pilgrimages. Her legacy of love, kindness, giving and devotion lives on in all who were blessed to know her.

Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E. (519-253-7235). Visitation will be held at St. Alphonsus Church (85 Park St E, Windsor), on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 10am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11am. In accordance to Doreen's wishes, cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations would greatly be appreciated by the family to Hotel Dieu Grace Health Care - Palliative Care Unit. or to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre.
