Obituary of Helen Cooke

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Cooke at the age of 103, who peacefully passed away at Huron Lodge. She has been reunited with her beloved husband, George (1984). Cherished and proud mother of Sharon (2024) and Bruno (2020) Bormann. Helen will be dearly missed by her granddaughter Kathy (Ron) Galipeau and is reunited with her grandson Fredric Bormann (2009). Forever loved by her great-grandchildren Sara (Ethan) Kopecky, Marc Galipeau (Rebecca Grootendorst), and Sadie Galipeau. A special grandmother to Robin (Pat) Cooke and family. Helen was predeceased by her siblings Mike, Joseph, Mary, and Anne. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Helen was a valued member of the Zolota Zhoda Seniors Group at St. Vladimir's Church. She was known for her delicious perogies and cabbage rolls. She enjoyed many activities with her friends and the staff at Huron Lodge, especially Bingo. She will be remembered for her love of family, her sharp sense of humor, always being dressed to the nines, ready for a good time and a few drinks. She was also known for never turning down a second piece of dessert! Cremation has taken place. A private service and burial will be held with immediate family at a later date.
