Obituary of Salvatore Ferrarelli
FERRARELLI, Salvatore
It is with heavy hearts the family of Salvatore Ferrarelli announces his passing on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of Maria Ferrarelli (nee Pignanelli) for 69 loving years. Loving father of Teresa (Giovanni) Maceroni, Domenico (Carollee) Ferrarelli and the late Sandro R. Ferrarelli (2023). Cherished grandfather of Robert Maceroni, Stefanie (Daniel) Kane, and SamiaRose Ferrarelli. Dear brother of late Antonia Ferrarelli (late Giovanni Oliverio), late Francesco Ferrarelli (late Elena Guzzi), and late Cristina Ferrarelli (late Giuseppe Bonofiglio), and in-laws Barbara Parise (late Louie), Francesco Pignanelli (Laurie), Assunta Belcastro (late Francesco), and late Andrea Pignanelli (2024) (Janice). Salvatore will be remembered by many nieces and nephews in the USA and Italy. He is predeceased by his parents Domenico Ferrarelli (1941) and Teresa Gallo (1982).
Salvatore loved his traditional Calabrese salami and frisoli. He was passionate about gardening, winemaking, and having the best figs in the neighbourhood. He loved traveling with his wife Maria. He often spent many Friday nights playing cards with his friends at the Caboto Club, conversing about life in the old country and enjoying each others company. Sam was an avid bike rider, until about 2 years ago, you would always find him riding around the neighborhood. Above all else, Sam’s family came first no matter what. A special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Erie Shores Healthcare, and at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare – Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion for Sam.
