Derrick Ivan Banner

May 6th, 1966 - February 17th, 2025

It is with profound sadness, the children of Derrick Banner announce his peaceful passing on February 17th, 2025 at the young age of 58.

Loving father to Josh (Kaitlyn) and Briana. Predeceased by his parents Ivan and Cathy Banner. Cherished brother to Kevin (Shelly) and Tracy (Gary) Lavin. He will also be greatly missed by his nephew Justin and nieces Vanessa and Natalie. He will also be missed by many great friends.

Derrick worked at Essex Terminal Railway for 30 years in various roles and his work ethic gained him the respect of his peers and coworkers. He had a passion for classic cars, with having a knack for identifying them by year.

In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to rock music, spending time at his camper at Campers Cove and cooking for his family and friends. Derrick was a devoted family man who went above and beyond to provide for his family.

He may have left us too soon but lived a wonderful life in his 58 years and lived each day with no regrets.

Derrick touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Derricks name to the cancer society.
