Obituary of Judith Brown
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Judith Brown nee (Simonato). Judith was born January 30, 1944 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the eldest child of Luigi and Velma Simonato. She had 7 siblings, Joanne, Joyce, Janet, Jackie, Richard, Randy and Karen. She was the beloved widow of her adoring husband, Arthur. Raised five children: Heidi, Richard, Cynthia, Dante, and Katrina. One of her fondest memories was attending Stewart Memorial Church in Hamilton, where her grandmother, RoseAnn Washington, was a member. A cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Judith was the backbone of our family, dedicating her life to creating a warm, loving, and nurturing home. A devoted housewife, she took immense pride in fostering an environment filled with love, laughter, and life lessons that will echo through generations. An excellent cook created dishes with incredible depth and taste. Judith's home was the first place all out of town guests wanted to visit to taste a delicious meal!
Judith was known for speaking her mind, never shying away from standing up for what she believed in. A true champion of others, she lived by the motto "never say never," instilling in those around her a fierce sense of resilience and determination. She believed deeply in the power of education and the importance of upholding strong moral character, values she instilled in her children and grandchildren.
Described by many as “tough but fair,” Judith carried herself with an unshakable strength, perhaps a reflection of her roots in Hamilton, Ontario, nicknamed Steeltown, a place as strong and enduring as she was. (Just ask Robert L!) Her feisty spirit, joyous energy, and boundless strength left a lasting imprint on all who knew her. She had a wit sharper than steel and a sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest of days.
A natural storyteller, Judith could captivate a room with her tales, bringing history to life with vivid detail and a sparkle in her eye. Her home was always open-a welcoming haven where love, wisdom, and laughter were shared freely. She had a way of making everyone feel like family, embracing friends and strangers alike with warmth and generosity.
While we mourn her passing, we take solace in the countless memories and loving moments we shared. Her wisdom, strength, and unwavering love will continue to guide us, reminding us to live with courage, humor, and kindness. Judith was truly one of a kind, and the world is a little dimmer without her light.
She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
Rest in peace, Mom-your legacy lives on in all of us.
