Obituary of Temjana Karolev (nee Sekulova)
Temjana Karolev (nee Sekulova)
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 10th, 2025. Her passing came after a brief illness as she approached her 99th birthday.
She is predeceased by her husband Kosta Karolev, her siblings, and sadly, several beloved nieces and nephews.
Loving mother of Nikola, Lence (Srba), Petre (Sherry) and Fanny (Ed).
Cherished grandmother of Shelly, Damien, Regan (Julie), Brandan, Temjana, Melisa, Aleksandar, Christopher, and John. Beloved great grandmother of Mackenzie and Benjamin.
Temjana was the youngest child of Ilja Sekulovski and Menka Makariovska. She was born on March 29th, 1926 in Murgasevo, Macedonia, Yugoslavia.
Temjana was a talented seamstress and crafts person - knitting, crocheting and making beautiful needlework pieces. She supported her family sewing piecework in several Windsor factories including Sportex and Daals specialty. She ended her career at General Motor’s Trim plant, a job she loved, which she continued to speak of for the rest of her life.
Temjana was an incredible baker, cook and gardener. She lovingly prepared traditional Macedonian meals for her family and their friends who she enveloped into the family. Her curiosity led her to try many new experiences. She became an expert maker of Egg rolls. A family favourite.
She valued hard work, compassion and dedication to family. Her strength carried us through many challenging times. Her warm smile, dry humour and wisdom were a staple for everyone she encountered.
In 2010, Temjana moved to Toronto to live with her daughter Fanny’s family where she thrived during her senior years.
Her grandchildren were her greatest treasure. She was happiest in their presence. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Trillium hospital and Cooksville Care Centre. Special thanks to Margaret, Elizabeth and Isabelle for their excellent care and kindness.
