Obituary of Jean-Pierre Albert Fortier
Married for 29 years to his best friend and devoted wife Cheryl (nee Goebel) who loved him dearly. Father of two very caring sons, Patrick Allan and Joseph Gordon.
J.P. was one-of-a-kind guy and truly loved life. He strived to be a great provider for Cheryl, Pat and Joey who he deeply loved. Always trying to generously help others. J.P. being so outgoing, easily made friends and was very well suited for the many jobs he had. From taxi driver, realtor and solely managed family owned businesses, industrial/manufacturing buildings and properties.
We were fortunate that in September of 2014, J.P. was one of the first residents of the then new, Village at St. Clair – Schlegel Nursing Home following a severe head/brain injury (January 2012).
Thank you to all the staff who quickly accepted him as family. A heartfelt thank you to a few extraordinary staff members; Stacey, Noel, Brent, Alayna, Andre, Chelsea, Shelby and Jean. They definitely made J.P.’s days much happier by going well above and beyond their required duties. Playing cards, listening to his favourite music and providing him endless bags of BBQ chips.
Predeceased in death by parents John and Theresa Fortier. Cheryl’s parents Gord and Shirley Goebel who he enjoyed spending time with and thought highly of.
Cremation will be provided by Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Banwell as per J.P.’s Wishes.
