Obituary of Theresa Lassaline

Passed away peacefully at the age of 89, on February 6, 2025. Reunited with her beloved husband of 59 years to the late James Lassaline (2023). Cherished mother of John (Debra). Proud Meme of Alexander, Andrew, Adam and Grayson. Dear sister of Lloyd Bornais, Raymond Bornais, Vincent Bornais (late Kathy) and Rita Fata (late Tony). Predeceased by her siblings Leonard Bornais (Rosita), Mary Anne Simms (late William), Rosemary McCracken (late Lyle), Elizabeth Drouillard (Late Archie), Veronica Demarais (Leonard), Gerard Bornais, Louis Bornais (late Mary), Bernard Bornais and Elaine Bering (Joseph). Survived by brother-in-law Paul Lassaline. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Theresa and Jim married in 1964 and moved to California for better opportunities. As they settled in California, their dear son John was born, and Theresa devoted her time at home. In 1980, the family decided to move back to Canada, at which time Theresa found her true vocation in healthcare. She was a beacon of love and compassion, dedicating her life to her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest treasure. A woman of faith, Theresa found solace and strength in her devotion to St. Therese, the Little Flower.

The family would like to thank Dr. Karnick, Dr. Heys and all the wonderful nurses, PSW’s and staff of Age Care Royal Oak, St. Elizabeth’s and Bayshore.  We would like to also thank the amazing paramedics of EWEMS that took care of her over the last few years. You were all guardian angels.

Family and friends are invited to gather directly at Good Shepherd Parish, 462 Advance Blvd, Tecumseh, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, for the visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Parish.
