Obituary of Joseph Yrigoyen

We regret to announce the passing of our beloved Joseph on January 29, 2025 at Y.Emara Centre in Windsor, at 96 years of age. Beloved husband and best friend to Alba for over 50 years. Cherished Papa of Lidia (Alex DaCruz) and Serge (Angie). Proud Tata of Lucas, Xavier, Mila, Logan, Quentin, and Eva-Belle. Survived by his sister Isabelle Yrigoyen (France).

Joseph had an adventurous spirit and a passion for travel. He was able to share this with his wife and children over many years which saw trips to France (his birthplace), Spain, all across Europe (sometimes on motorcycles), all over Ontario and Quebec. He retired from Chrysler in 2000 after 35 years service. Joseph’s other hobbies included reading, yoga and woodworking. These passions were only outweighed by his love for his family. He will be sadly missed by all those whose lives he has touched.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3048 Dougall Avenue (519-253-7236) on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Funeral service will take place in the chapel on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 1:00pm. Cremation to follow. Private family interment at a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations to The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.
