After a hard fought battle, Mary Ellen has gone to be with her beloved husband Bob. Loving wife of the late Bob Tapak of 57 years. Beloved mother of Jim, Ron, Michael, Nicole (Rob Imperioli) and Ken (Stephanie). Loving grandmother to Jasmine, Alexander, Lucas, Ariel, Samantha, Jocelyn, Lexi, Sophie and Veronica. Treasured Daughter to the late Leo and Norine St.Louis (2011 and 2002) Sister of Joanne (Bob Gignac) the late Ron St.Louis (Pam) Robert St.Louis. Sister-in-law of Gail, Dan (Linda), Barry (Marg), Lori (Rick McKee)and Steven. Special aunt to Michelle St.Louis. Mary Ellen was born and raised in Riverside spending most of her youth enjoying all seasons on the water. Mary Ellen loved spending winters at her Florida home with Bob, sharing joyful moments with their kids, grandkids and friends. Mary Ellen began her career across the border in Detroit where she had a short career in clerical for the Detroit Police Department. She had a lengthy career in marketing with James Barr. Mary Ellen was giving of her time to the community serving treasurer of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 143. Mary Ellen dedicated her life to raising and being present in her children’s lives. She spent a big chunk of her life in arenas with 4 boys and Bob’s hockey lives. Mike, Niki, and Sophie devotedly supported her daily, while Jocelyn held a special place in Gram’s heart for her check-ins, sleepovers, and extra care. Mary Ellen, a devout Roman Catholic, cherished visiting the Martyr’s Shrine in Midland. At Mary Ellen request cremation has taken place.
